Here’s a bit about us, just in case you were wondering who you were ‘listening’ to.
My name is Rachael – you may have seen me around as Rach72, Chris is ‘Dad’ and goes by the user name of Chris72 on many sites. I get to do most of the writing, while ‘Dad’ gets to do most of the thinking – ain’t that the way!
We’ll here we are – August 2011.
It’s been 2 years since I first started on this journey. It’s fair to say that it has been a loooong road and even fairer to say that the journey is not over yet.
See when we started I was at home with 4 kids under 4 years and I wanted to find a way to make a bit of extra cash by freelance writing. I had no training, no experience, I just knew that I wanted to write and with the demand that having 4 kids puts on the body and soul flexibility was the key.
Somehow I landed slap bang in the world of affiliate marketing. Since then I have learned how to build websites, create mailing lists, use forums and blogs. I have made friends and am starting to see the potential for web-based commerce and networking in our business. We are now making a ‘massive’ $300/month consistently which is double what we made last year, so things are looking promising.
I am also at the stage where I can sit back and take a look at what I am doing online and how it fits in with the ‘original plan’ and I see that it is beginning to ‘fit’ rather well. Because, despite the early beginnings, I don’t call myself a marketer – I am a writer who just happens to have learned marketing skills along the way.
