There is a whole bunch of money being made off newbie marketers for products that they either don’t need, or that they can get the equivalent of for free somewhere else.

In reality you need b-all to get started and become successful with your internet marketing, but there are certain tools that can give you greater access to good information and that can speed a process up for you. So to give you a hand here are 3 free internet marketing tools that we wouldn’t be without.

#1 Traffic Travis

Our number one free internet marketing tool is a piece of software called Traffic Travis.

This is fantastic for doing keyword research, site analysis, PPC analysis and SEO page analysis. (It is also great for spying on your competition….. but shhhh…. I didn’t tell you that!)

It quickly gives you detailed information and comes with a full set of video tutorials.

There is a pro version, but as yet the free version gives us more than enough information to get things going.

#2 Paint.net

Paint.net is a really basic but simple to use photo editing software.

Great for all those graphics and pics that you need for your site

If you are interested in those flashy moving banners and pictures download a piece of software called unFREEz which will allow you to quickly put together those gif files that you have edited in Paint.net and make a moving/flashing graphic.

#3 Google

Yup, that’s right.

When you have your own site you will begin to notice just how many great free internet marketing tools Google has on offer to make your life easier.

Google Analytics and Webmaster Tools are essentials for anyone who has their own site, but even if you don’t have your own site, there are plenty of free tools provided by them that you will use. The prime example is the External Keyword Tool but when you get a Google account you can also get images, video, a blog, bookmarks, keyword alerts …… all very cool stuff.

Other tips when looking for free internet marketing tools;

Social Bookmarking – If you are using social bookmarking then install a bookmarklet for each site – they make book-marking to individual sites a breeze.

Automated Submitters – While we are on the subject of social bookmarking tools just watch out for the free multi submitters like Onlywire, Social-Poster and Social-Marker. I know that they are really handy, but what hey are doing is essentially breaking the TOS of the bookmarking sites and more and more sites are cracking down on these automated services.

Free Trials - Look for software that has free trials – for example, Camtasia one of the most popular products for making professional video’s and has a 30 day trial so you can see how it will work compared to some of the free video editors.

Don’t Forget Your Old Faithful for free internet marketing tools. Look in the existing programs of your computer – you probably already have some sort of photo, slide and video editing software.

Article Submission – There is a free article submitter called Free Traffic System that will send your articles out to 30 blogs. Even if some of these are crappy, unpromoted blogs those backlinks are still free, so it is one of our favorite free internet marketing tools…….just as a quick but safe backlink builder.

A Word of Warning – One thing to remember before downloading any free internet marketing tools is to do your research on the product advertised. Sometimes you can be downloading viruses or malware without realizing it so do your research before hitting the ‘download now’ button!

You Can Also Get Educated For Free!

You can not put a price on education, but you do want to make sure that the stuff that you are learning is teaching you properly and is regularly updated too. Just because a course costs a load of money doesn’t make it better than some of the free IM courses that are around now.
